![]() When the identification code is scannable by a smart phone. Suitable techniques for steganography and digital watermarking are disclosed in the handbook “Information hiding techniques for steganography and digital watermarking.” Edited by KATZENBEISSER, Stefan, et al. For example, the identification code can be concealed within the lowest bits of noisy images. Concealing the identification code printed with the one or more inkjet inks used for inkjet printing the one or more decorative patterns, can be accomplished by techniques well-known to skilled persons in digital image steganography, sometimes also called invisible digital watermarking. It also does not enhance the cost and complexity of the inkjet printer as no additional print heads and ink circuits have to be foreseen. By inkjet printing the identification code by the same one or more inkjets inks used for inkjet printing the one or more decorative patterns, the latter undesired effect with an invisible ink is avoided. Such an effect may also be obtained when the decorative laminates are installed as a floor in a home using special lighting conditions and are that time highly undesired. An invisible ink may become visible, for example, under an UV lamp by fluorescence. The hidden identification code is not printed by an invisible ink, but by the same one or more inkjets inks used for inkjet printing the one or more decorative patterns. Steganography encompasses the techniques for concealing an image within another image, such as here concealing the identification code in the one or more decorative patterns. In another preferred embodiment, the identification code is machine readable, but not human readable as use is made of steganography. The identification code is then used for delivery ( 23) of the ordered laminate ( 24) to the customer ( 1). The decor paper roll ( 16) is then impregnated ( 18) with a thermosetting resin and cut to a size ( 19) for being heat pressed ( 21) and finished into ready-to-use floor laminate ( 24). A print job for the laminate order ( 2) is then provided by the computer ( 5) via a digital connection ( 7) to a decor printer ( 20), which prints on a paper roll ( 12) from a paper manufacturer ( 11) using an inkjet printer ( 15) resulting in a decor paper roll ( 16) with the one or more decorative patterns from the laminate order ( 2) and the assigned identification code. On an input device ( 3) digitally connected ( 4) to a computer ( 5), a customer ( 1) defines a laminate order ( 2), which is assigned an identification code. 3 shows another embodiment of a method for manufacturing decorative laminate panels according to the invention involving no decor printer as the inkjet printing is performed at the laminate manufacturer. The identification code is used for delivery ( 23) of the ordered laminate ( 24) to the customer ( 1). The decor paper roll ( 16) is then delivered to a laminate manufacturer ( 20), who impregnates ( 18) it with a thermosetting resin and cuts to a size ( 19) for being heat pressed ( 21) and finished into ready-to-use floor laminate ( 24). A print job for the laminate order ( 2) is then provided by the computer ( 5) via a digital connection ( 6) to a decor printer ( 13), which prints on a paper roll ( 12) from a paper manufacturer ( 11) using an inkjet printer ( 15) resulting in a decor paper roll ( 16) with the one or more decorative patterns from the laminate order ( 2) and the assigned identification code. ![]() 2 shows an embodiment of a method for manufacturing decorative laminate panels according to the invention involving a décor printer and a laminate manufacturer. However, it was found that the handling of the rather fragile resin impregnated paper by an inkjet printer resulted in additional waste by the breaking-up of the paper sheet and disruption in the manufacturing of the decorative panels. By first impregnating an unprinted paper roll and cutting it to sheets, the printing of the desired decorative pattern could be delayed to very late stage in the manufacturing chain, thereby reducing stock and facilitating personalized flooring laminate. ![]() One approach to handle the above issues is explored by EP 2865527 A (AGFA GRAPHICS) which discloses a method of manufacturing a decorative surface including the steps of: a) impregnating a paper substrate with a thermosetting resin b) jetting a decorative pattern with one or more aqueous inkjet inks including a polymer latex binder on the thermosetting resin impregnated paper c) drying the one or more aqueous inkjet inks and d) heat pressing the thermosetting paper carrying the decorative pattern into a decorative surface. ![]() You can choose your desired similarity level to get relevant results. ![]() Image courtesy of The John Jay Ide Collection, Smithsonian Design MuseumĪnother method Piranesi employed creatively was synthesis. The fantastical urban assemblage of the Field of Mars is a utopian work of reinvention. This tendency to simultaneously collect and adapt, using the classical world as a repository or even a scrapyard (it should be remembered Ancient Roman buildings were used as literal stone quarries), would influence the likes of John Soane and Joseph Gandy, the former having met Piranesi in 1778 and been gifted prints by him. One notable detail is his architecture parlante set of buildings shaped like male genitalia, symbolising reproduction, which would inspire Ledoux’s phallic Oikema in his Ideal City of Chaux (1780). His depiction of the Field of Mars in his Ichnographia Campo Marzio (1762) is a staggering near-utopian work of reinvention, immense in size and themes. ‘These speaking ruins have filled my spirit with images that accurate drawings, even such as those of the immortal Palladio, could never have succeeded in conveying, though I always kept them before my eyes’, he wrote. While grounded in tradition, his work took a much more subjective turn. His studies were instrumental in this transition. Establishing a firm historical foundation, he embarked on more inventive exercises. This was a beginning rather than an end for Piranesi. ‘Piranesi’s genius lay in print, specifically in the exploration of the realms outside extant architecture the unbuilt, the demolished and the derelict’ In an age of digital reconstructions of long-lost environments, set to deepen with advances in AR and VR technology, our debt to Piranesi will only increase. Indeed, it was recognised as such immediately, with the Society of Antiquaries in London electing Piranesi an Honorary Fellow in 1757. In an age when archaeology was still in relative infancy, the study was invaluable and remains so, given how many of the monuments have been physically lost to us in the intervening years. Beginning initially as a documentation of funereal architecture, the central project of his entire career, the Antichità Romane, became an immense recording of Roman antiquity, numbering 250 plates and four volumes in total. Travelling as part of a Venetian papal delegation, he became fascinated with the remains of Ancient Rome, and argued for its importance against an intellectual consensus that had deemed it inferior to Ancient Greece. Image courtesy of Dietmar Katz / Kunstbibliothek der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlinīefore creating his fictions, Piranesi had first mastered the study of surviving architecture. Sketch of an altar for the Church of Santa Maria del Priorato on Rome’s Aventine Hill. Enthralled by antiquity, he chose the medium of etching and printmaking, which seemed to embody within it the passage of time, giving even his invented works the sense of having a past. While he is buried at the Church of St Mary on the Aventine, a minor treasure he worked to restore between 17, his genius lay in print, specifically in the exploration of the realms outside extant architecture the unbuilt, the demolished and the derelict.Ī Venetian by birth and outlook, he belonged to the capriccio tradition of imaginary, or composite, cityscapes. While proudly declaring himself an architect, Piranesi built very little. The latter was an artist and an architect a Venetian and a Roman the last of the Ancients and the first of the moderns a visionary who studiously documented imperial ruins while predicting the ‘dark Satanic mills’, in Blake’s words, of the coming Industrial Revolution a prophet who spent his days recreating the past a designer of heaven and hell. ![]() Often depicted with two faces gazing in opposite directions, this was a god who reflected Piranesi’s nature. Its colossal arches hinted at the nature of the Roman god to whom it was dedicated – Janus, the god of gateways, journeys and change. Red Bull went to 230 points with Ricciardo's podium finish, though they remained third, while Force India and Williams remained fourth and fifth respectively. Daniel Ricciardo scored another eighteen points after finishing second, being fifty points behind Bottas, while Räikkönen remained fifth with 138 points. Because he failed to score any points, Vettel remained on 235 points, but remained second ahead of Valtteri Bottas, who had 212 points following his third-place finish in Singapore. As a result, Hamilton extended his championship lead over Vettel to twenty-eight points in the Drivers' Championship, having 263 points in the standings. In the Singapore Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel caused a crash with Kimi Räikkönen and Max Verstappen, and all three retired from the race while Lewis Hamilton won it. Vettel came home in fourth, although he later collided with Lance Stroll on the cool-down lap. Hamilton finished in second place, while Daniel Ricciardo finished third after managing to defend against Vettel long enough in the closing stages. Räikkönen failed to start the race due to a turbo issue, while Hamilton kept the lead of the race until lap 4, when Max Verstappen overtook him at the first corner and pulled out a gap in front before taking his second victory, just one day after his twentieth birthday. Hamilton's chief rival for the championship, Sebastian Vettel, suffered mechanical problems in qualifying, and started the race in 20th and last place. Lewis Hamilton qualified his Mercedes on pole, 0.045 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Räikkönen. This was the final Malaysian Grand Prix held for the foreseeable future.
